The Alaska Mariculture Cluster (AMC), led by Southeast Conference, is a coalition that includes members of Alaska’s mariculture industry, tribal organizations, regulatory agencies, university system, Economic Development Districts, trade organizations, and others. In September 2022, the U.S. Economic Development Administration awarded Southeast Conference a $49 million Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant to catalyze a sustainable mariculture industry for the long-term benefit of Alaska’s economy, environment, and communities.

The International Seaweed Association (ISA) has proudly hosted the triennial International Seaweed Symposium for decades, uniting scientists, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to drive innovation and consistent growth in the seaweed sector.

This one in Victoria, Canada, is special, marking the 25th anniversary of the first one, which took place in 1952 in Scotland.

The ISA is a non-profit organization with the mission to be the most relevant global seaweed community. It is managed by a council of 14 members from across the world, representing academia and business.

The ISA fosters applied seaweed research to support the long-term and sustainable development of the seaweed industry worldwide. We promote seaweed literacy and stimulate worldwide interactions among students, researchers, industries (from start-ups to large companies), government agencies, NGOs, and seaweed-related associations.

Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) is a world-leading ocean observing facility hosted and owned by the University of Victoria (UVic), and managed and operated by the ONC Society, a not-for-profit established in 2007. ONC delivers ocean data from its cabled, mobile and community-based observing networks that represent an essential component of Canada’s ocean observing science capacity.

The Phycological Society of America (PSA) was founded in 1946 to promote research and teaching in all fields of Phycology. The society publishes the Journal of Phycology and the Phycological Newsletter. Annual meetings are held, often jointly with other national or international societies of mutual member interest.

The Phycological Society of America supports numerous awards and fellowships that annually honor its members.
